How Long to Cook French Fries in the Oven
This cook time is for 3 russet potatoes (8 oz. each), peeled and cut lengthwise into wedges, and soaked in hot tap water for 10 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 475°F; move the oven rack to the lowest position in the oven. Place the drained, seasoned, and oiled potatoes in a single layer on an oiled, heavy duty baking sheet. Tightly cover the baking sheet with foil and bake for 5 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for 15-20 minutes until they begin to brown, rotating 10 minutes into the baking. Flip the French fry wedges and cook for an additional 5-15 minutes or until golden brown and crisp.
